TALENT SEARCH

            Do you have a special talent?    Do you enjoy performing before large audiences? Are you willing to donate an hour or two of your time? Have you started thinking about Christmas? I you answered yes to any of these questions, Marshfield Community Christmas needs your help to make our telethon a success. Anyone or any organization that would like to perform on the telethon is asked to contact Michael Maresco, telethon coordinator at 781-837-0431.
            This year’s telethon will take place on Friday, December 5, 2008 from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM live at the Daniel Webster School in Marshfield. The telethon will be broadcast live on ComCast Cable. This year’s format will once again feature live performances and a visit from Santa Claus. Residents, parents, business leaders and children are invited to stop by the telethon to make a donation and have their picture taken with Santa Claus.
            Proceeds raised from the telethon will be used to fund Marshfield Community Christmas. Any business or individual wishing to donate an auction item can do so by calling Michael Maresco at 781-837-0431.
            Please join is in helping to make a child’s dream become a reality. Last year Marshfield Community Christmas was able to help 307 families and 660 children have a happy and joyous Christmas in Marshfield.

CHRISTMAS TELETHON

The Marshfield Community Christmas Telethon will take place live on Friday evening, December 5, 2008 from 7:00 P.M. to 10:30 P.M. at the Daniel Webster School. The telethon will be broadcast live on ComCast cable channel 13 and Verizon cable channel 34. This year’s telethon hosted by Michael Maresco and local comedian Tommy Dunham will feature fabulous live local talent galore. The entertainment will consist of singers, dancers, martial artists, pianists, comics and bands, along with a special visit by Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.

There will also be many interesting and unusual auction items available for bidding. This is a great way to do your Christmas shopping while relaxing at home enjoying the spectacular talent performing on the telethon. A sampling of this year’s auction items includes: prints by David Brega, art work by Donna Rosetti-Bailey, handmade afghan, massage therapy treatment by Body Tech and gift certificates from local businesses and other exciting items to fill your shopping list. These auction items are only available through the telethon. Pledges in any amount may be made by telephone during the live broadcast of the telethon by calling the number on the T.V. screen or by mailing your check made payable to Marshfield Community Christmas, P.O. Box 713, Marshfield, MA 02050.

Residents and Business leaders are invited to stop by the Daniel Webster School to make a donation live in front of the camera or drop off a donation in the kettle. All local challenges are welcome! Children are invited to visit Santa and have their picture taken for a small donation.

Proceeds raised from the telethon will be used to help our neighbors of Marshfield many of whom are struggling to provide for their families. Last year Marshfield Community Christmas was able to help 370 families and over 660 children have a Merry Christmas in Marshfield.

Please help us to make a little boy or girl’s dream a reality. Don’t miss this great annual holiday tradition. Remember to mark your calendars, invite your friends over to watch the telethon on Comcast and Verizon Cable. Remember only phone bids will be accepted for auction items. Auction items must be picked up on Saturday, December 6th at the Fairgrounds office between the hours of 12-3 P.M.
