Who
Needs Help?
For example, say a family of four earning $10.00 hour.
That's $1,600 month before taxes:
Monthly rent $800,
Food $400,
Heat $50,
Electric $50,
Telephone $50,
Car insurance, gas $250,
There is nothing left for health insurance, clothing, coffee
and newspaper, and nothing for Christmas. (As you can see,
these amounts were kept on the low side of the scale). There
is no affordable housing. Gas, oil, milk and bread prices
are sky high.
This is an example of a family working, trying to make it.

Who
volunteers for Community Christmas?
Marshfield residents and people who work in Marshfield. We
even have former residents who now live elsewhere come to
help every year. They say that it wouldn't be Christmas without
volunteering for Marshfield's Community Christmas!
The local scout troops learn about the joy of giving when
they help out at Community Christmas. Youth Groups from the
area's local churches run fund raisers such as Breakfast with
Santa. For many, this is the first of many community services;
a wonderful way to live their faith. Other local organizations
donate to Community Christmas, as well as fund raisers like
the local Golf Tournament run by Tom Welsh that benefits Marshfield
Community Christmas.
We've had some famous people volunteer, too. Aerosmith's
Joey Kramer helped with the Christmas delivery one year.

Another member of Aerosmith, Steve Tyler, stopped by with
a very generous donation. His visit was written up in the
Marshfield Mariner.
Why not stop by and and become an angel, too? You will meet
lots of wonderful people; famous or not!
